Srikalahasti · Pen Kalamkari
Drawn by hand.
Drawn by hand.
Coloured by the earth.
What we make
An Art that takes a month, and a pen that never lifts twice the same way
Every metre here begins as plain cloth, softened in buffalo milk and myrobalan, then drawn line by line with a kalam — a sharpened bamboo stick bound with cloth. The colours are not pigments. They are roots, barks, flowers, iron and sun.
